A High-Efficiency Technology for Manufacturing Aircraft Carbon Brake Discs with Stable Friction Performance

نویسندگان

چکیده

A binary C/C brake disc (i.e., the test disc) was prepared with a (pyrolytic carbon/resin carbon) matrix using modified natural gas as carbon source through isothermal chemical vapor infiltration (ICVI) process directed flow and pressure impregnation carbonization (PIC) liquid-phase furfural acetone resin. The microstructural, mechanical, thermal, friction wear properties of were comprehensively analyzed compared commercial ones. results showed that production efficiency 36% higher than ones, which manufactured thermal-gradient (TCVI) process. favorable mechanical thermal comparable to While had more consistently rough laminar microstructure on worn surface this avoided annular grinding grooves after braking tests. In addition, stable coefficient low dispersion 3.90%, would improve stability discs used in aircrafts.

High Capacity Variable Friction Damper based on Band Brake Technology

Implementation of high performance controllable damping devices can ameliorate cost-effectiveness of structural systems for mitigation of natural hazards. However, the applications of these damping systems are limited due to a lack of 1) mechanical robustness; 2) electrical reliability; and 3) large resisting force capability. To broaden the implementation of modern damping systems, a novel sem...

Performance of a Nao Friction Material for Disc Brake

The purpose of brake is to decelerate a vehicle by transforming the kinetic energy of the vehicle to heat via friction and dissipating that heat to the surroundings. As a part of an automobile, brake materials have additional requirements like resistance to corrosion, light weight, long life, low noise, stable friction, low wear rate and acceptable cost versus performance. Selection of the mate...

Toward high-performance digital logic technology with carbon nanotubes.

The slow-down in traditional silicon complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) scaling (Moore's law) has created an opportunity for a disruptive innovation to bring the semiconductor industry into a postsilicon era. Due to their ultrathin body and ballistic transport, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have the intrinsic transport and scaling properties to usher in this new era. The remaining challen...

Development of Iron Based Brake Friction MMC Used for Military Aircraft Application by A New P/M Route

A new P/M route based hot powder pre-form forging process has been evolved to develop high density brake materials for heavy duty applications. Number of iron based MMC’s so developed offer better characteristics for braking applications in comparison to the materials developed through conventional P/M route based on high pressure compaction and pressure sintering. The process so developed in t...
